Kundapur: Car falls into sea at Maravanthe; one killed, another missing

Kundapur: A car fell into the sea from the National Highway at Maravanthe late night on Saturday, leaving one person dead and another missing.

The car, moving from Koteshwar to Byndoor on the National Highway 66, veered off-road and fell into the seawater.

At the time of the accident, there were 4 persons travelling in the car. One among them was killed. Another person is said to be washed away by the sea waves and missing at the time of publishing the news.

Two passengers, who were injured in the mishap have been shifted to a hospital. They are said to be out of danger.

The identity of the victims was not immediately known.

Fire and rescue services were called in to remove the car debris from the sea.

Meanwhile, Gangolli police visited the spot and have undertaken an investigation.
