Kuruba community to launch campaign to demand ST tag

Bengaluru: Leaders from the Kuruba community have come together to launch a campaign to demand inclusion of the community into the list of Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Reportedly, the elected representatives from the community will hold a meeting at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru on October 11 to decide the nature of the campaign.
Earlier on October 2, The Shepherds India International in the fifth annual convention held in Bengaluru has demanded a Scheduled Tribe (ST) tag for Kuruba community which is spread across the country under different names.
