Lalitha murder case: life imprisonment to the accused

Kundapur: The Kundapur additional sessions court today awarded life imprisonment to the accused in the Lalitha Devadiga murder case.

The accused Afzal Khan (42) from Mumabi has been sentenced to life and imposed a fine of Rs. 90, 000 in this case.

It may be recalled that, On April 15, the convict Afzal Khan had invited Lalitha for lunch and booked a room in a hotel here. When Lalitha refused to Khan’s demand of letting her daughter get married to him, he strangulated her. He also stole the gold jewellery worn by her and fled from the spot.

Kundapur police tracked him down and arrested him in Mumbai after few days of the murder.
