Sakleshpur: A landslip incident was reported near Donigal of Shiradi Ghat (NH 75) yet again, here on Thursday noon, due to which, the heavy vehicle movement has been restricted.
According to the reports, Prateek Bayal, Assistant Commissioner of Sakleshpur Sub-Division has informed that due to repeated landslide occurrences on the ghat, the decision of restricting heavy vehicular movement was taken.
Earlier this week Public Welfare Department (PWD) Minister C C Patil had visited Donigal to check the road repair works and access reports on the landslide occurrence. Currently, at the same spot, the landslip incident has occurred.
Meanwhile, taking a jibe at the Central government, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy said that the repeated incident of landslides was because of the substandard work by the contractors who were tendered by the Centre.
