Kasargod: Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and wife Maitree Wickremesinghe on Saturday visited the Bela Kumaramangalam Subramanya Temple near here.

Wickremesinghe performed rituals under the guidance of the priests, temple sources said.

Earlier, the temple officials received the Lankan premier at the place of worship.

In the backdrop of the blasts that rocked Sri Lanka in February last, security was beefed up in the temple and the routes leading to it.

After the temple visit, Wickremesinghe left for Mysore, the sources added.

On Friday, he and his family visited the Kollur Mookambika Temple in Karnataka and reached Kasargod in the evening.
