Bengaluru: Minister of Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar announced that the last date of admissions to school and colleges have been extended till February 20 due to the delay in the current academic year from COVID-19 pandemic.
“Schools and colleges for the current academic year began in full swing from February 1. Physical classes have started for classes 9 to 12, while for the rest of the classes alternate learning arrangements have been made,” he added.
“Students in different parts of the State are in the process of getting admission to the college of their preference. February 6 was the last day for this year’s admission. However, many students are still unable to get admission,” Suresh said.
“Requests were received from students, parents and elected representatives from various parts of the State seeking more time for admission as classes have been delayed this year,” the minister said. Adding that accordingly a notification was issued to the Public Instruction Department’s commissioner and the director of Pre-university College Department regarding this.
