New Delhi/Bengaluru: Belagavi Rural Congress MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar will appear before Enforcement Directorate officials today (Thursday) or questioning.
ED sleuths are likely to question Congress MLA over Ballari power plant construction and business dealings in the LED bulb contract.
The Enforcement Directorate officials on September 17 issued summons to MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar and have asked her to appear before them for questioning on September 19 as a witness in relation to the money laundering case registered against Congress leader DK Shivakumar.
Earlier, D K Shivakumar’s daughter Aishwarya had appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with its money-laundering probe against him,
The Congress leader and former Karnataka Cabinet minister was arrested by the ED on September 3 and is in the agency’s custody.
The central agency in September last year registered a money-laundering case against Shivakumar, Haumanthaiah, an employee at the Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi, and others.
The criminal case was filed based on an Income Tax Department charge sheet filed against Shivakumar and others before a court in Bengaluru for alleged tax evasion and hawala dealings.
