
Lockdown effect: Mangaluru based hotelier commits suicide in Pune

Pune: A 43-year-old Mangaluru based hotel entrepreneur has committed suicide by hanging due to COVID-19 lockdown on Thursday, June 25 in the city.
The deceased is identified as Premanath Krishna Shetty (43), a business partner in Hotel Raj.
As per police, Premnath served as a partner for seven years.
It is learned that the hotel is situated in Pune’s Sinhgad Road in Dhayari. He was depressed as the hotel was closed for the past four months due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
A hotel worker found the body as he entered the hotel in the morning and informed the police.
Pune Ka News quoted, the cops have found a note which reads, “Due to close down of hotel because of lockdown, the situation is too bad and due to the depression I am …. Nobody is responsible for this. In my own intention, I am doing this.”
