Lockdown in parts of state under control: Bommai

Bengaluru: The State Home Minister Basavraj Bommai said that the COVID-19 lockdown imposed in the many districts of the state is under control.
Bommai held a telephonic meeting with the city police officers, district police commissioners on Thursday, July 16.
“There is information on many lockdown violations, unnecessary public movement. I have informed officials to take strict action on such violations,” the Home Minister said.
“We have to fight COVID-19, but no need to fear for it. If we follow strict rules, we will be able to control the virus,” he added.
Karnataka reported the biggest single-day spike in coronavirus cases with 4169 new cases on Thursday, July 16 taking the tally of those infected rose to 51,422 in the state.
As many as 104 Covid-19 related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours with 70 of them being reported from Bengaluru itself.
