Lokayukta orders Compol to submit report over alleged corruption at Ullal station

Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar was issued a notice by the Karnataka Lokayukta to investigate and submit a report regarding allegations of corruption at the Ullal police station.

Mohammed Kabeer, a social worker who lives in Ullal, filed a complaint on which the notice was delivered.

According to Mohammed Kabeer’s complaint against inspector Sandeep of the Ullal police station and sub-inspector (SI) Pradeep, the two “have nominated a broker by the name of Hameed in order to receive money from ganja mafia, sand mafia, and hotel owners.”

Additionally, the duo also extorts money from the residents of Ullal.  Since being assigned to the Ullal police station, both officers have acquired crores of rupees in wealth.

The complainant stated that despite sending emails to the heads of several departments, the chief secretary, the DGP, the Lokayukta, the ACB, the ADGP, the DC of Dakshina Kannada, and the city police commissioner, no one has responded.

The city police commissioner was mandated by the Lokayukta to deliver the investigation report by February 14.
