Mabukala: Lady grievously injured in a fire accident

Kota: A lady was grievously injured in a fire accident that took place at Bobbaryanakere near Mavukala on Sunday night February 17th. It is being said the reason behind the incident was an exploding mobile. The explosion also damaged paddy rolls heaped in the courtyard.

The injured lady is identified as Ashwini Marakalti (26), daughter of Jalaja Marakalti.

Incident synopsis

Two months ago, the victim was married to a youth from Malpe. In order to participate at the fair in her hometown, the lady had returned back to her mother’s home on Sunday. In the evening as she was conversing in the mobile in the courtyard, the mobile spontaneously exploded. Immediately she flung the burning mobile onto the paddy rolls heaped in the courtyard, inform locals.

When the neighbours came to the location they found the lady with grievous injuries, unconscious and her mother in an unhealthy state. Later, she was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru with assistance from the locals. The mother was provided treatment at a local clinic, informed the locals. The complete reason is yet to be clarified.

The fire personnel visited the location and doused the fire with assistance from the locals.
