Mahout suffers serious injuries after tamed elephant attacks him

Madikeri: A mahout of Dubare Elephant Camp in Kushalnagar suffered serious injuries after a tamed elephant attacked him, on Sunday, January 13.
The injured Naveen (30) is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mysuru.
On Sunday, the nine-year-old elephant Karthik trampled Naveen when the latter was giving water to the elephant.
Karthik drank the water given by Naveen and when Naveen was leaving the spot, Karthik attacked him with his tusks and seriously injured him. The commotion alerted other mahouts who rushed to the spot and reined in Karthik, informed sources
Karthik, who was born and bought up at the Dubare Elephant Camp had claimed the lives of a mahout and a trainee at the camp in 2018.
