Mamata Banerjee announces new Covid curbs. List of whats allowed & not

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced extensive restrictions across the state in view of the increasing Covid cases.

Local train services will be suspended while State transport, including metro, will function with 50 per cent capacity from tomorrow, Banerjee announced shortly after taking oath as the chief minister for the third straight term.

Fliers from outside the state must have a negative Covid test report not older than 72 hours. Covid-affected passengers will be sent to a 14-day quarantine arranged by the airport authorities.

Government offices and Private organizations can work with 50 percent staff strength.

Shopping complexes, gyms, cinema halls, beauty parlours will remain closed,

Jewellery shops will remain open from 12 pm to 3 pm. Banks to operate from 10 am to 2 pm,

Markets will remain open from 7 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm.

All essential activities will be permitted.

Home delivery services are being encouraged to prevent people from venturing out as much as possible.
