Man arrested for snatching chain from a lady

Bengaluru: Police arrested a 40-year old man for snatching a chain from a youth at HSR layout here.

The accused, Prabhakar, from Andhra Pradesh worked in an IT company. A fews years ago, he started his own business. Since the business did flourish, Prabhakar started borrowing money from private lenders.

Later, Prabhakar resorted to chain snatching, to repay the mounting loans and targeted elderly woman. He is said to have managed to repay Rs 10 lakh worth of loan by pledging the robbed valuables.

On Friday, the police patrol which was on rounds spotted him fleeing after robbing a lady and chased him.

The police detained Prabhakar and took him to a hospital from where he was taken into custody.
