Man critical after being assaulted by stone on head

Mangaluru: A labourer sustained serious head injuries after being assaulted by a stone here at Yeyyadi near Padav in Kankanady town police station limits on September 20, Thursday night.

The injured has been identified as Daniel Fernandes while the accused is Jagadish Shetty. Both of them work as a coolie in and around Yeyyadi Padav village and used to sleep by the roadside here during night hours. 

On Thursday night, both of them got involved in a fight over a petty issue following which Jagadish is said to have hit Daniel on his head with a heavy stone.

Daniel has been admitted to a private hospital in Kankandy for treatment.

A case has been registered at Kankanady Police station.
