Mangaluru: 2 arrested for obstructing police from discharging their duties

A 31-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly obstructing and assaulting police personnel from obstructing their duty.
The accused identified as Mohammed Azharuddin, a resident of Adyapadi Montibail has a criminal history.
Recently as per instructions of city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar the police had undertaken a search operation at residences of known offenders. When they arrived at Azhar’s house for undertaking a search, he allegedly abused and obstructed the police from carrying out their duties. A case has been registered in this regard.
Investigations have revealed Azhar’s involvement in the cattle theft cases reported from Karkala and Moodbidri.
In a similar instance reported from Rao and Rao Circle in the city, Bunder police on Tuesday arrested an auto driver for obstructing on-duty traffic personnel from discharging their duty. The accused Vinod Poojary was in an inebriated state and misbehaved with the cops as well as the general public.
