Mangaluru: 2-year-old child sexually assaulted, thrown into fish water tank

Mangaluru: In a barbaric incident, a man allegedly sexually assaulted a two-year-old child and threw her into a saltwater fish tank in the Hoige Bazaar area in the city on Sunday evening.
Mangaluru police commissioner N Shashi Kumar informed that the child was rescued and the accused was arrested.
According to reports, the child belonged to a couple who migrated from Bihar for work. When the parents returned from work on the evening of Sunday, October 31, the infant was found to be missing from home. After searching for a long time, she was found from a fish tank at around 9 PM and was rushed to a local hospital, sources said.
During the police investigation, it was found that a man from Bihar had abducted the child. On interrogation, the man confessed to having sexually assaulted the child, Shashi Kumar said.
The child is currently recovering at the hospital, he added.
A case has been registered at the Pandeshwar police station.
