Mangaluru: Businessmen duo cheated of Rs 3 lakhs for setting up goat farm

Mangaluru: Two businessmen were allegedly cheated of Rs 3 lakhs by a man in the guise of opening a goat farm.
A complaint has been filed at the Bunder police station against Bennychan Joseph for cheating.
The complainants, Fredrick Ferrao and his friend Vijay Barboza, run a juice shop at Hampankatte. Joseph, who supplied pickles to the shop, told the duo that he ran a profitable goat farm business in Davanagere and asked them to start the same on their land.
He also promised to assist them in setting up the goat farm., the complaint adds.
Believing him, Fredrick and Vijay transferred Rs 3 lakhs to Joseph’s bank account. However, Joseph did not set up the farm as promised and has cheated them, the complaint says.
