Mangaluru: Customs arrest man with 531 grams of powdered gold in his body

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Customs arrested a man who secretly tried to bring into the country a little more than 530 grams of 24-carat gold.

The passenger, Ashraf Mammed, who arrived from Dubai on the Air India Express flight numbering IX 1384 on October 20, had consumed the powdered form of the gold to be retrieved later.

It was reported that the recovered gold from his body was worth approximately Rs 27.36 lakhs.
