Mangaluru: Four arrested for robbing petrol pump manager of Rs 4.20 lakh cash

Mangaluru: Police officials have arrested four men for allegedly robbing the manager of a petrol pump of Rs 4.20  lakh cash, which he was going to deposit at a bank.

The arrested accused have been identified as Shyam Shankar, a resident Shakthinagar who works at Ashrivad petrol pump, Abhishek, a resident of Kudupu working as a manager in bar at Mumbai, and Karthik and Sagar from Shakthingar, who work as painters.

Rs 60,00 cash, a vehicle and mobile phones were seized from them. Shyam Shankar was an employee of the same petrol pump where the victim was working.

On Tuesday, September 28, the petrol pump manager was attacked by the accused while he was on his way to the bank to deposit cash.

The injured petrol pump manager was identified as Bojappa (57). He was working at Ashirvad petrol pump in Gandhinagar.

The incident took place while he was on his way to the bank to deposit Rs 4.20 lakh cash on his two-wheeler. Miscreants robbed the cash from Bojappa after assaulting him with a cricket bat.

The accused were wearing food delivery group Swiggy t-shirts

A case was registered at Urwa police station.
