Mangaluru: Man booked under POSCO for sexual assault on friend’s sister

Mangaluru: A 40-year-old resident of Thokkottu has been arrested for alleged sexual assault on minor.

The accused identified as as Naveen Sequeira has been booked under the POSCO Act.

The victim’s brother was a friend of Naveen and the latter had on multiple occasions stayed overnight at their residence.

It was during one such visits, in the month of March that Naveen sexually harassed the minor and allegedly forced her to have physical relationship. The victim was threatened against revealing the incident to anyone.

Recently on November 4, Naveen yet again tried to take advantage of the victim when she was alone at home. It is alleged that he gave the victim a spiked juice and when she felt dizzy he tried to assault her.

When the victim tried to raise an alarm he gagged and threatened her. Unable to bear the ordeal, the victim finally narrated the incident to her parents who then filed a complaint in Pandeshwar women’s police station.
