Mangaluru: MP Kateel chairs meeting on projects under Smart City Mission

Mangaluru: In an advisory meeting on the various projects chaired by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel a slew of projects for the city were discussed.
The meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office and was attended by the DC Sindhu B Rupesh, Managing Director of Mangaluru Smart City Private Limited Muhammed Nazeer, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of MCC Santhosh Kumar and other officials of the Smart City Project.
In the meeting, approval was granted to redevelop the entry road to the city between Pumpwell and Padil ar Rs 26 crore. A tender was floated for the same.
Kadri Park is also to be developed at a cost of Rs 12 crore and an international standard swimming pool along with a community centre is to come up at a cost of approx Rs 25 crore.
Mangala Stadium and the Central Market will be developed at a cost of Rs 10 crore and Rs 145 crore respectively.
A total of Rs 114 crore will be spent in redeveloping water distribution system for the city.
