Police Commemoration Day in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Police Commemoration Day was observed at the Police Parade Grounds under the aegis of the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate and DK District Police Department on October 21.
Speaking at the programme, chief guest District Principal and Sessions Judge Kadluru Satyanarayana Achary recommended the opening of a school providing free education for the children of policemen who met an untimely death when on duty.
Western Range IGP J Arun Chakravarthy and DK Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Roopesh participated as honourable guests at the programme and honoured the martyred policemen.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner Dr| Harsha P S read the names of the total 292 policemen in the country who became martyrs in last one year including 2 policemen from Mangaluru and 12 from Karnataka.
DSP B M Laxmi Prasad, DCPs’ Arunangushgiri and Laxmi Prasad, MCC Commissioner Shanadi Ajit Kumar Hegde, Home Guards District Commandant Dr| Murali Mohan Chuntaru, retired commandant Dr| Shiva Prasad Rai, Zonal Fire Service Officer Shiva Shankar, ACPs’ Manjunath Shetty, Shrinivas Gowda, Upase, Puttur DySP Dinakara Shetty, KSRP Commandant Janardhana and others were present on the occasion.
