Mangaluru: The second Padil railway underpass was inaugurated by MP Nalin Kumar Padil on Thursday, June 25.

The underpass is built at a cost of Rs 5 crores.

The underpass is constructed according to the Indian Road Congress code with regards to the raised height of the road and also RTO rules for maximum height and width of the underpass.

The work on the underpass had started in 2018 and took two years to complete.

Weeks ago a small crater was created due to a sinkhole that developed on a part of the road leading to the underpass. The sinkhole developed due to a drain passing underneath that was not covered. The repairs needed for the problem was also done before opening the underpass to the public.
