Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajarang dal activists have put up posters claiming that only Hindu vendors can set up shops in Sri Mahalingeshwar Temple, Kavoor.
The banners said those who don’t believe in idol worship would not be allowed to do business near the temple.
DYFI, and CPIM activists have filed a police complaint regarding the issue.
DYFI claimed that people of all religions have been doing business here in harmony during the festival since time immemorial. But on January 10, a banner was put up saying, “People of other religions are prohibited from doing business in temples.” This is not right.
After alerting the local police and ACP, the banner was removed.
