Manipal: MAHE to host TEDx virtual event on Oct 25

Manipal: In a press release, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education announced hosting of a virtual TEDx event, the “TEDx MAHE COUNTDOWN,” on October 25.
“As the world continues to struggle with a pandemic, a much more resilient and pressing issue stares humanity right in the face – climate change. TED, in association with Future Stewards, introduced the COUNTDOWN initiative which aims to instil a sense of urgency and responsibility towards the deteriorating condition of the environment and climate amongst the masses” the release read.
It further stated that the speakers at the online event include Georgios Kostakos, co-founder of Foundation for Global Governance and Sustainability (FOGGS); Alexander Verbeek, Strategic Policy Advisor on Global Issues at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Chau Duncan, COO of the green investment and banking platform Earthbanc; Derrick Ian Joshua, Assistant Director, Environment Sustainability at Manipal Academy of Higher Education; Keshav Gupta, founder of The Dais Foundation and Rakshit Naidu, an undergraduate researcher at Manipal Institute of Technology.
The release also quotes the Vice-Chancellor of MAHE Lieutenant General (Retired) Dr MD Venkatesh: “TEDx MAHE Countdown provides an opportunity for the students and the local community to actively participate in making our campus environment friendly through deliberations and dialogues.”
