MESCOM lineman assaulted by Congress leader

Ullal: A MESCOM lineman who visited the house of a Congress leader at Jalalabagh in Deralakatte within Kotekar town to verify unpaid electricity bill was assaulted by the leader on Tuesday, January 28.
MESCOM Kotekar lineman Madhu visited the house of Ameer Hussain as the electricity bill of Hussain was long unpaid. After verifying the electricity meter Madhu asked Hussain to pay his bill to which Hussain reacted with hurling expletives and then assaulted Madhu.
Madhu and a few other employees of MESCOM later registered a complaint against Hussain under Section 353 for obstructing a government officer from performing his duty at Ullal police station.
Ameer Hussain was the president of Congress’s labour wing at Thumbe.
