Mescom: Rs 8.47 crore in loss within 13 days

Mangaluru: The electricity poles, transformers and electricity connections in areas within Mescom limits have suffered much damage due to flooding. In a mere span of 13 days from Aug 1st to Aug 13th, Rs 8.47 crore has been incurred in losses by the company.
Altogether 6,779 electricity poles, 432 transformers have been damaged. The work on normalizing the situation is being conducted with haste, informed Mescom.
Since April 1st to Aug 1st, altogether 15,055 electricity poles, 1,063 transformers have been damaged and a total loss of Rs 18.13 crore has been incurred.
