MIA: Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 25 lakh from passengers

Bajpe: Customs personnel at Mangaluru International Airport have caught three passengers in two separate cases, attempting to smuggle gold at the airport. Gold worth Rs 25 lakh has been seized from the accused.
During inspection on Oct 3rd, 493.76 grams of the precious metal was found being smuggled in the form of paste by one passenger.
On Sep 30th, customs sleuths seized a gold chain weighing 143.480 gm in the raw form and a bracelet weighing 32.20 gram from two women respectively.
The total worth of the gold seized in either cases is estimated to be around Rs 24.96 lakh.
