Middle aged civil contractor commits suicide

Mangaluru: A middle-aged civil contractor reportedly committed suicide here at Kottara on Friday, September 6. The deceased is identified as Jaya Alva (50), a resident of Kottara.

The incident was discovered when the wife noticed her husband missing from house on Saturday morning.

Apparently, the victim went out from the rear door of the house, and reportedly jumped into the well close to the residence on the night of September 6.

Mr Alva is survived by wife and two daughters. The reason for the extreme step is not known and a case in this regard has been registered at Urwa police station.
