Minister G T Devegowda inaugurates Dasara heli-ride

Mysuru: Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda on Saturday inaugurated the helicopter joy ride, which allows a tourist to get a bird’s eye view of all the iconic places in Mysuru including the famous Chamundi Hill, Mysore Palace and Lalitha Mahal Palace.
The 10-minute heli-rides, costing Rs 2,399 per person which was reintroduced in 2016 as an added attraction during the Dasara celebrations has evoked a good response from the tourists. The rides will be available till October 19 and can be extended for a further period of two days depending on the demand from tourists. Two helicopters have been deployed for the ride on Lalitha Mahal Palace helipad.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister G T Devegowda said, “The rides have been organised in order to realise dreams of people who wish to fly in a helicopter.”
Tourism and Sericulture Minister Sa Ra Mahesh said, “There is a good response from tourists for the ‘Akasha Ambari’ for Rs 999. Heli-ride will also attract tourists”.
