Following the incident, the truck driver Kotappa told police that when the miscreants blocked his truck he was driving back to Namakkal in Tamil Nadu with the cash.

“I came to Bengaluru in the morning and supplied chickens to shops in Laggere, Hegganahalli, Sunkadakatte and neighbouring areas. I was driving back to Namakkal with my assistants when the men, who came in a car, blocked my vehicle on the flyover and attacked us,” Kotappa told the police.
