Missing techie case: two arrested, Reliance Jio booked

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) examining the missing case of software engineer Kumar Ajitabh has discharged sketches of the accused who had called the techie on the guise of purchasing his car. Two men were arrested on charges of issuing a Jio SIM card to the suspect and the sketches were formed on the basis of information given by the SIM card sellers.

Regardless of the arrest, police are in confusion as both the accused are giving different portrayals for a similar individual. Whitefield Police have booked Reliance Jio and have captured Anand, the seller and Shivakumar, the agent in connection with the case. They were arrested two days prior, after investigations revealed that they had helped the accused by issuing a Jio SIM that was utilized in the crime. The accused managed to acquire the Jio SIM utilizing fake identity.

On confirmation of the call details of Ajitabh, police found that the individual who offered to purchase his car, for which an ad was posted on OLX, had utilized a Jio SIM card make the call. Further investigation drove the police to Shabana, a resdient of Rahmath Nagar in Kolar, under whose name the SIM card was issued.

Shabana who stayed ignorant of the case however pointed at Shivakumar, from whom she obtained the SIM. After it got deactivated, Shivakumar utilized the certifications of Shabana to issue another SIM card to the accused. The seller Anand is comprehended to have recharged the SIM card. Based on Shabana’s complaint, the two have been captured.

Software techie Ajitabh has been missing since December 18, last year.
