Ullal: A 25-year-old COVID-19 patient was left in an ambulance for about 20 minutes and was admitted to the hospital only after the intervention of MLA U T Khader.
The MLA was on his way to Sajipa near Bantwal to insect the flooding situation there. On his way, he saw some PPE kit wearing persons standing outside the Yenepoya hospital near an ambulance.
He learnt from them that the hospital is refusing to admit the COVID-19 patient as they did not receive any message regarding it from the District Health Officer (DHO).
Khader immediately called the DHO’s office and got the necessary formalities completed to admit the COVID-19 patient to the hospital.
The ambulance crew thanked the lawmakers for his humanitarian action.
