M’luru: Two held for for assaulting on-duty doctor

Mangaluru: Police arrested two persons for allegedly misbehaving and assaulting an on-duty doctor at a private hospital in the city here.
The arrested are identified as Shamsheer Ali (43) and Sarfraj alias Chappu (27).
The incident had taken place on May 21 when Dr Jayaprakash Shetty was on his rounds. A group of people, including the arrested allegedly abused and manhandled Dr Shetty at the time.
A case was registered with Kadri police in this regard.
The two have been booked under Indian Penal Code sections for preventing the doctor from discharging his duty and violating the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the state government.
