Bengaluru: Observing that police personnel deployed at checkposts are working round the clock, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday ordered senior officials to initiate steps to keep the staff motivated.
In order to provide them relief, he directed that they follow a shift system and also make provisions for mobile resting facilities for the personnel at all checkposts. Mobile resting units will be set up at checkposts in Nippani, Dhoolkhed, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Vijayapura and Atttibele (Bengaluru).
Police checkposts have been set up at various border points for monitoring movement of inter-state travellers following the coronavirus pandemic.
Since few cases of police personnel testing positive for the virus have come to the light, Bommai ordered that they be provided with cotton gloves, mask, head-visor with wipers, PPE kits. He further directed for mandatory COVID-19 test of all police staff working in containment zones and checkposts along with their family members.
