Hassan: Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani and actor Prakash Raj addressed a seminar on ‘Save Constitution’ in Hassan on Thursday where both advised the people to be wary of the Janata Dal (Secular) with regard to its motives. While the duo maintained their stance of not supporting any political party, they declared that they would oppose the Bharatiya Janata Party for dividing the citizens on the basis of religion.
Mr.Mevani opined that the people of Karnataka should defeat the BJP in the elections and show their stand towards the party’s ‘anti-constitution’ strategy. He accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being a “chor” as he did not fulfil any of the promises made during the 2014 elections. He challenged the PM to talk about his promise of generating jobs for the youth and the enhancement of minimum support price for agricultural produce when Mr. Modi challenged Congress President Rahul Gandhi to speak for 15 minutes.
Mr. Raj requested the people to protest against H.D. Deve Gowda if he sides with the BJP after the election and asked him to clarify his stand with respect to the BJP. Both Prakash Raj and Mr. Mevani urged the people to think carefully while exercising their voting rights.
