Monsoon Showers Create Flood like Situation in Karnataka; Bhagamandala Records Max Rainfall of 20 Cm

Bengaluru/Madikeri: Karnataka recorded heavy rainfall activities during the last 24 hours including Coastal, Malnad, Kodagu and North Karnataka regions. Bhagamandala in Kodagu district recorded highest the rainfall of 20 Cm in the last 24 hours ended on Wednesday at 08.30 AM.
Kodagu district administration has declared holiday for schools, colleges and other institutions in the district following heavy showers. Inflow of water in major reservoirs in the state has moved up significantly. Flood like situation was seen near the banks of the most of the rivers including Sharavathi, Cauvery, Netravati, Tunga, Bhadra, and others.
Belagavi, Khanapura, Siddapura have witnessed heavy monsoon showers in the last 24 hours. Coastal Karnataka also witnessed flood like situation during the last two days as water level at major rivers, reservoirs recorded a steep up-tick in their water level. Many houses, building reportedly damaged and loss of property is reported. Devotees confused after bath zone at Kukke Subramanya temple submerged in water on Wednesday, reports said.
