In a heartwarming display of compassion, a mother from Idukki has stepped forward to donate her breast milk to infants who lost their mothers in the devastating landslides that struck Wayanad district, Kerala.

As the tragic event claimed 173 lives, the woman and her family decided to travel to the affected area to offer their help. ‘I am a mother of two small children. I know how it must be for children without their mothers. That is what prompted me to take this decision,’ she told the media.

The landslides, which occurred between 2 am and 4:10 am on Tuesday, left the hamlets of Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha in ruins, with many families torn apart and communities in despair.
