Mumbai cops search for cheating case accused lands them in M’luru

Mangaluru: Four persons from Dakshina Kannada district have been accused of cheating their business partner to the tune of Rs 56 lacs.
Shakthinagar resident, Suraj Babugodda Kotian (43), Ajay Babugodda Kotian (41) from Moodbidri taluk, K Chandrashekhara Upadhya and K Krishnakanth Upadhya, both residents of Kodialbail are the accused persons.
As per the complaint, lodged by Sheikh Azeez, a resident of Mumbai the accused and his daughter had started a hotel on a partnership basis in Dubai in the year 2010. After four months however, the business saw a downside and was closed later. The four accused allegedly defrauded Azeez’s daughter to the tune of Rs 56,37,450 and fled from Dubai. Hearings into the case are being held at a Nagpur court.
Recently, the court issued a search warrant for the accused and the Mumbai police arrived in Mangaluru on Friday, November 15 to undertake a search for the four.
The accused are constantly changing their names and address, said Mumbai police.
