
Mysuru armed robbery: Police donate part of prize money to family of man killed in firing

Mysuru: In a heart-warming gesture, Mysuru police personnel donated Rs 1 lakh from the prize money awarded to them to family members of a man who was shot dead by the robbers while fleeing.
The robbery incident had taken place on August 23 at a jewellery shop in Vidyaranyapuram. While fleeing the spot the gang fired at a bystander identified as Chandru.
The government had announced the reward for the team for solving the robbery and jewellery heist case in a short span of time. The team meanwhile decided to donate Rs 1 lakh from the prize money to Chandru’s father Rangaswamy and mother Rajamma.
The cheque was handed over to them by City Police Commissioner Chandragupta.
