Mysuru: Woman sexually assaulted inside hostel; accused arrested

Mysuru: An incident where a young woman was allegedly attacked and sexually assaulted inside a ladies hostel in Naidu Nagar was reported from the city here.
Police officials have arrested the suspect within a few hours of the incident. The accused is a driver of a religious study centre.
It is said that the victim and the accused were known to each other for a few months. The accused gained entry into the room and seeing the girl all alone raped and injured her with a knife before escaping.
The attack victim was reportedly found in a semi-conscious state by her hostel mates and was admitted to KR Hospital in the city.
Fingerprint experts and the dog squad visited the spot. Police officials are waiting for the victim’s statement and medical report.
