Mangaluru: The incumbent MP of Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, Nalin Kumar Kateel filed his nomination for the 17th Lok Sabha elections on Monday, March 25.
Before submitting his papers, the election office of the candidate was inaugurated at Bunts Hostel. Speaking to hsi supporters and party leaders he said, “In the year 2009, for the first time I was elected as MP due to the blessing of voters. I continued as MP for the second term. I did best in my 10 years of power. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made some tremendous achievements in the last five years. When Dr Manmohan Singh was Prime Minister, only Rs 3,500 crore was released to the district, but when Modi was prime minister, Rs 16,520 crore was released to the district. Several development works including highways, airport and railways are undertaken. Voters will definitely bless me in the upcoming elections.”
Speaking on the occasion Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar said, “We will face the forthcoming election with the agenda of Hindutva and development. Nalin Kumar Kateel is filing nomination for the third time. PM Modi has provided good administration in the last five years and our country has gained respect globally because of him. We have taken the pledge of making Modi the prime minister again. Election is not about complaints over pending work, but all about our country,” he said.
“PM Modi has taken some serious decisions and it would be necessary for us to make him the prime minister again to help him do the good work. Nalin Kumar Kateel has successfully performed his duties in the last five years. We have also witnessed the decisions taken by Modi. Even senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary had said that Modi will become prime minister again and Nalin will turn victorious.
“The opposition candidate had said that if he comes to power, he will control Bajrang Dal. But if BJP comes to power Bajrang Dal will be formed in every village. We will face the elections with development and Hindutva agenda this time,” he added.
