Nearly 3,000 accidents caused due to over-speeding in Bengaluru: NCRB

Bengaluru: According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, Bengaluru has reported the highest number of accidents caused by over-speeding among the 89 major cities in India.
As many as 2,993 accidents had occurred due to over-speeding, the data stated. 596 people died in road accidents, while 2650 were injured due to overspeeding.
Bengaluru’s Yelahanka, Chikkajala, KR Puram and E-City areas reported the maximum number of accidents.
Also, experts claim that most of the accidents in the city occur during early morning hours and late-night when the traffic is lowest.
