Mangaluru: Health and environment officials of Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) conducted raids on local shops in the city and seized 30 kgs of single-use plastic and imposed Rs 9000 fine.

Today’s raids were carried out at 20 shops near Central market.

A ban on single-use plastic has been imposed in the state since September 1 and to ensure stricter implementation, authorities have formed four teams to conduct inspection drive at various places.
