Chikkamagaluru: A man whose dead body was found in a car parked by roadside at Charmadi ghat on Wednesday had allegedly taken the extreme step as he was devastated by his wife’s death.
On Wednesday, locals had informed the police about a car that had been abandoned near Malaya here since Tuesday evening. Upon checking, police found a dead body in the driver’s seat of the car. A bottle of poison was found lying near the car, hence it was suspected that he died after consuming poison.
Based on the documents found in the car, police identified the deceased as Nagaraj, 44, a native of Chitradurga district. A death note was also found in the car.
As per the death note, Nagaraj was depressed over the death of his wife. “I can’t imagine a life without her so I am on the way to be with her,” the note read.
The note further mentioned that a man named Girish owed him Rs 26,000 and that Nagaraj’s bike too was in his possession.
