Operation against sale of banned plastic in Udupi district

Udupi: Officials under the leadership of the municipality commissioner Anand C Kollolikar started an operation on Wednesday against those selling banned plastic products within its limits.
The officials conducted raids at various locations including Adi-Udupi Santhe Market, wholesale shops near Udupi KSRTC bus stand, flower stalls and seized 190 kg of banned plastic products. The confiscated goods included plastic bags, straws, plastic spoons among others.
Fine from Oct 2nd
For now, we have seized the banned plastic products, given warnings and awareness. Come Oct 2nd, fines will be charged, informed officials.
Health officer Karunakar, Health Superintendent Panduranga, Revenue Inspector Dhananjai, officials Anand and Prassanna participated in the operation.
