Outfits object to tender awarded to non-Hindus at Kudupu Temple

Mangaluru: Hindu outfits have slammed the Kudupu temple administration for awarding banana tenders to non-Hindus.
It is said that quotations were called for supplying bananas to the temple from June 2021 to June 2022.
Three quotations were received and the quotation of a Muslim vendor from the Central market was finalized as he charged Rs 1.95 per banana.
Now, as it is time for a new tender, several Hindu outfits have condemned the administration’s move of awarding the previous tender to a non-Hindu.
The rules framed under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Rules, 2002, restricted the temples to carry out business with non-Hindus.
