Chikkaballapur: As Udupi district continues to see a spurt of Covid-19 cases, Medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar hinted at the possibility of over 300 positive cases being reported in the district today (June 5).

Speaking to reporters in Chikkaballapur, Sudhakar said that a meeting was held with officials of Udupi and Kalaburagi districts to control the spread of infection.

Presently, Udupi district tops the list of positive cases, in the state with a total of 564 infections, followed by Kalaburagi 510.

He also expressed fear that the cases are likely to rise once religious places and schools are reopened. “The virus will be around with us for some time. So we have to learn to live with it,” he said while stressing on need to maintain social distancing.
