A 30-year-old woman, Shahida from Kerala’s Palakkad allegedly murdered her 6-year-old son as a sacrifice to Allah on February 7.
As per reports, Shahida called the 112 emergency control room between 3am to 4am, and told the police that she had murdered her 6-year-old son Aamil, as a sacrifice to Allah.
Shahida was waiting for the police at the gate, when the team headed by Assistant sub-inspector George Harris reached her house.
The police rushed inside the house and found Aamil dead in the bathroom and his throat was slit.
Meanwhile, Shahida’s husband Sulaiman and two other kids were sleeping in the bedroom and are believed to have no idea of the happenings.
Shahida has been booked under section 320 (Punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
Police officers asserted that investigations will be done without any preconceived notions and that currently arrest procedures were going on, following which a psychological evaluation will be conducted.
A similar chilling murder case was reported in Andhra Pradesh recently, where two young women Alekhya (27) and Sai Divya (22) were killed by their parents V Padmaja and V Purushotham Naidu, both teachers by profession. They told police that their daughters would reawaken a day later.
